by isleofman.com 12th January 2016
Samaritans Isle of Man recently visited Zurich International Life’s headquarters on Athol Street, delivering an informative and thought-provoking presentation to employees about its services and the importance of emotional wellbeing.

Representatives from the charity explained how Samaritans relies on volunteers to answer phones, emails and texts 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Those that attended the presentation were also given information on the different ways in which they could volunteer with Samaritans.

If you are interested in finding out more about what volunteering with Samaritans involves, the charity holds regular informal information sessions at its headquarters in Victoria Place, Douglas.

Tracey Fuller, Director of Samaritans Isle of Man, said: ‘We would like to thank all of the employees at Zurich who attended our lunchtime presentation; it was wonderful to see so many enthusiastic individuals taking a real interest in what Samaritans does.
‘Samaritans offers confidential emotional support and is available 24 hours a day. We rely on volunteers to maintain this essential service, so if you are interested in finding out more please do come along to one of our informal information sessions.’

Merita Taylor, Communications Manager of Zurich International Life, added: ‘We were delighted to have Samaritans visit us and deliver such an inspiring presentation. All of our employees who came along really enjoyed the talk, and it was great to learn more about Samaritans and the services that they provide.

‘It was also a fantastic opportunity to hear more about the work of the Samaritans and volunteering with the charity – the presentation helped to address any concerns that people may have had when it comes to volunteering.’
