Success for Michael Daniels at annual magic competition

by isleofman.com 7th January 2016

Local magician Michael Daniels was the recent winner of an annual magic competition held by the Magicians of Mann at the Columba Club in Douglas.

Each year the club chairman, currently Paul Martin, sets members a challenge. The winner of the competition receives an unusual trophy in the form of a solid wine bottle that contains, amongst other things, a sealed pack of boxed playing cards!

"It's a magical version of the 'ship in a bottle,' Paul explained, 'made by our member John Cain in 1997. We're still trying to work out how he did it!'

Michael performed an act with rings, that contained many magical moments. Others taking part included Chris Burns, Mike Clague, Keith Greenland and John Cain.
