Vision of Sir William Hillary to be commemorated

The man who founded Britain’s lifeboat service will be honoured at a ceremony in Douglas this weekend.

 

The annual service of commemoration in memory of RNLI founder Sir William Hillary is being held on Sunday (Jan 10).

 

The service takes place at St George’s Church in Douglas starting at 3pm and will be led by Archdeacon, the Venerable Andrew Brown.

 

All are welcome to attend and there’ll be a social gathering afterwards at the South Douglas Old Friends Association on Finch Road.
