Coastguard search beaches close to Ramsey

Coastguard and police are continuing what's described as a recovery operation this afternoon after a man fell into Ramsey harbour yesterday morning (1st Jan)

Police believe 19 year old Josh Caley died after falling into the water close to the Mezeron Shipping Company on the East Quay around 1am on New Year's morning.

He had been out celebrating the New Year, but his family raised the alarm when he failed to return home.

Search teams worked through the night, but this morning police said that a man seen on CCTV falling into the water in the early hours of Friday was "almost certainly" Josh.

Access to parts of Ramsey harbour may be restricted today as the search continues. Coastguards are also searching beaches in the Ramsey area.

Police say their thoughts are with Josh's parents at this very sad time.
