Andy Glaister died in Liverpool on Tuesday

A popular member of the Manx motorsport scene who died this week, has been saluted for helping expand facilities in the Island.

Andy Glaister, a Ramsey businessman and prominent member of the rally fraternity, died in Liverpool on Tuesday.

The 47-year old had become ill after a night out at Cream nightclub in the city on Boxing Day.

Manx Radio's rally correspondent Chris Boyde competed alongside Andy Glaister and served with him as a rally organiser.

He says Andy was always keen to get more people involved - and is to thank for some of the off-road courses enjoyed today.
