Police say 'a number' of staff have been suspended from Beaconsfield nursing home following the death of a 95 year old woman.
She was a resident at the home. Police say they were informed of concerns regarding her treatment and care. A joint investigation involving social care authorities and management from the nursing home is under way, led by the police who are examining the events leading up to the woman's death.
Mark Newey, the detective inspector leading the investigation, stressed that her death is being treated as unexplained at this time.
A spokesman said: 'The management at Beaconsfield Nursing Home in consultation with the Department of Social Care Registrations and Inspections and Safeguarding Adults Teams have taken the decision to suspend a number of staff as a precautionary measure while the investigation is ongoing.
'The Coroner of Inquests has been notified and is aware of the ongoing investigation and a post mortem has been undertaken.'
