by isleofman.com 23rd December 2015
The Isle of Man Funds Association hosted its annual Luncheon at the Clothworkers Hall in London on 12th November.

This annual sell-out event has grown in popularity over the years and is now seen as a key date in the diary for the Island’s funds industry and associated professional services firms. This year 200 guests attended the event, ranging from senior fund managers and professional advisers from the City, along with Isle of Man representatives who hosted tables at the event and attended as delegates.

David McGarry, outgoing Chairman of the Association, welcomed guests and thanked those who have supported the Isle of Man over the past year.

The Association was delighted that the Chief Minister Allan Bell MHK could attend the Luncheon and speak to the audience about the Island’s continued economic stability and diversified economy. Mr Bell stressed that the Island offers significant benefits for individuals and businesses seeking to relocate. He also spoke about the Island’s new Enterprise Development Scheme.

Over dessert, Mr Jim Mellon, an Island resident who is globally recognised in the investment industry as an investor and entrepreneur, provided a whirlwind tour of global economies as he provided his outlook and an insight into technological developments and the way in which they would impact global markets.
