Top Two set up Boxing Day showpiece

It's St George's v Peel

The top two sides in Manx football will clash in Boxing Day’s Cu Plas Railway Cup Final.

That’s after emerging victorious in Saturday’s semi-finals.

Holders St George’s eased their way into the festive showpiece with a 5-1 triumph at Laxey.

Despite a spirited showing from the hosts, the Geordies had too much as goals from the deadly strike force of Ciaran McNulty and Callum Morrissey caused most of the damage.

Both scored twice, one of McNulty’s was from the penalty spot, and Joey Morling grabbed one as they fought back from falling behind to an early Tom Smith header.

Peel won the old firm clash with a 4-1 success at Douglas Road.

Goals from Lee Gale, Marc Kelly, Ashley Webster and Daniel Pickering, in the final minute, sealed their spot.

Matty Cain had replied for Rushen to leave the tie in the balance at half-time.

But despite the contest being closer than the scoreline suggested, Peel had too much and booked their place in the final.
