Last week Quinn Legal welcomed back to the island the Snooker Legends Team for the second year in succession.
The Villa Marina was sold out as local fans swarmed to watch the combined talent of no other than Ronnie O’Sullivan, Jimmy White and Dennis Taylor.
Quinn Legal’s guest of honour for the evening was celebrated local snooker star Roy Gelling. Earlier this year Roy celebrated 62 years of continuous play in the Manx snooker leagues and during this time has never missed a single match.
Ashley Kneale from Quinn Legal commented: ‘As soon as we learnt of Roy’s commitment to snooker on the island we wanted to recognise his achievement. Roy is a huge fan of Ronnie so we just had to arrange for him to meet the stars.’
The capacity crowd was treated to not only quality match play by both the Rocket and the Whirlwind but were also dazzled by Dennis Taylor’s trick shots and witty commentary throughout the evening.
Asked about his experience Roy said, ‘It was an absolute honour to meet three of the best snooker players of all time, it’s definitely one of the highlights of my snooker career.’
Ashley continued, ‘Roy’s passion for the game was evident as soon as we met the legends. It felt like Roy was amongst friends and not his heroes.’
Quinn Legal would like to thank everyone who attended, the snooker legends, and the Villa Marina for what will be remembered as a hilarious evening of snooker.
