Appleby Isle of Man has made three key appointments to its business support team.

Neal Aitken joins the Douglas office of the offshore law firm as Compliance Manager and Head of Business Support, involved in all areas of statutory and regulatory compliance, governance and risk management.

He moves to Appleby after 13 years at another Isle of Man law firm where his roles included Head of Compliance and Deputy Money Laundering Reporting Officer. A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators (ICSA) and the International Compliance Association, Neal specialises in corporate governance and regulatory compliance issues. He also holds an ICSA Post Qualifying Diploma in Company and Trust Offshore Planning and is a specialist of the Institute of Risk Management.

Lynda Smith joins Appleby as Human Resources Manager, providing strategic HR support to the Isle of Man office. Over the past 12 years she has worked in various HR roles for a leading global insurance group in both the Isle of Man and, most recently, Hong Kong.

Also joining is Stuart Christian, who will head the Isle of Man office's Finance Department as Financial Controller. A qualified Chartered Accountant, Stuart has spent the last six years in banking, most recently as Head of Finance and a Project Analyst.
