Team Mad Manx - Rickshaw Run fundraising events

by isleofman.com 15th December 2015
The great team behind the Mad Manx Rickshaw Run 2016 are holding 2 fundraising events. The first is tonight, Tuesday 15th December, at Kurries and Steaks in Douglas. Tickets are ?22 each and include a buffet dinner, raffle ticket and a donation to the 2 charities – Hospice and Coolearth. The second event is a quiz on Tuesday 22nd December at The Swan, Ramsey.

The team have covered all the costs of this trip themselves so all fundraising event proceeds will go to the charities. One of the team’s Dad, Greg Barlow, has also kindly donated 2 limited edition photographs of Winkie the lighthouse at the Point of Ayre. Number 3 of 25 photographs is down at the Sayle Gallery in Douglas. Number 4 is raising funds by a silent auction through Hospice by ringing or texting 490819 or by private message through Facebook.

This limited edition print has been donated by Greg who, earlier this year, became the Lloyds Bank/IOM Newspapers Amateur Photographer of the Year 2015. It is a giclee fine art print that Greg has mounted on conservation grade boards and framed behind Tru Vue 99% UV protection glass to ensure print longevity. It is framed within a magnificent driftwood moulding and the overall size is 62cm by 88cm.

Offers over ?200 by silent auction by text to 07624 490189 or by PM through Facebook. All the proceeds will go to the nominated charities. The winner will be announced on Wednesday 23rd December 2015.

The team are taking part in The Rickshaw Run in India. The Team Mad Manx Rickshaw Run 2016 will cover 3,500 km in a 7 horsepower glorified lawnmower! They will set off on 1st January 2016 and are raising funds for Hospice and Coolearth.
