The IoM Archery Club met on Sunday to shoot a Worcester round as part of the Club’s Scratch League. The Worcester consists of 60 arrows, shot in groups of five, on a small black and white target face. Scoring zones range from 5 down to 1 giving a maximum score of 300.
The Gents Compound division was a three way affair between Dave Moore, Pete Mumford and Rhys Moore. Both Dave and Pete suffered a miss each but Rhys was on fine form finding the centre of the target with every arrow and recording a perfect 300 maximum score to take the win.
Joy Gough had a couple of uncharacteristic misses and her score was some way short of her pb for the round.
Lesley Sleight continued her record breaking ways by adding 9 points to the Club Record for the Ladies Longbow.
It was nice to see Matt Elliott in action again in the Gents Recurve after a gap of several weeks. Whilst he did not challenge for the lead, Matt did add 9 points to his pb for the round. The real battle came between Tony Hartley and Danny Cowin, with Tony ultimately taking the win by just a single point.
Jacob Brookes, James Hill and Joseph Reaney were in action in the Junior Gents Recurve. Unfortunately Jacob had a bad week with a host of misses serious damaging his score. James and Joseph both had two misses each and the score line was very close. It was Joseph Reaney who proved to be just that little bit more accurate to take the win.

Apologies to John Hill whose score was accidently omitted from last week’s results table. After handicapping John scored 1395 (60/428/4) this put him in joint 14th place and did not affect the outcome of the shoot.
