Armed police hunt shotgun man

by isleofman.com 14th December 2015

Police have issued a description of a man seen carrying a shotgun near Tesco in Douglas this morning.

Armed officers were sent to the Bridge Road and Lake Road area at about 8am after a report that a man was walking in the area carrying what looked like a shotgun. He's described as being in his early 50s, with balding grey hair, wearing a dark jacket and dark trousers, with the shotgun under one arm partially covered by a binliner.

A police spokesman said: 'As of yet the male has not been located or identified, but we are keen to speak to any witnesses who may have seen this person in the area. We would like to stress that at no point has anyone been threatened or harmed, and it is quite possible there is a totally innocent explanation.'
