The Department of Economic Development has maintained its Investors in People (IIP) Gold status following a recent assessment.
IIP is the national standard which provides a framework to help organisations transform their business performance through its people. The practical benefits of working towards IIP accreditation include an in-depth examination of an organisation’s strengths and weaknesses, improved employee and customer satisfaction and greater efficiencies.
Alfred Cannan MHK, the Department’s Member with responsibility for Schemes, said:
‘I’d like to congratulate everyone in the Department but especially Deputy CEO David Ronan, Ray Ferguson and all the staff who are part of the Department’s IIP working group. They have worked very hard to help deliver this accolade. This is a significant achievement and is evidence of our high standards of service and the improvement in our business performance over the past two years.
‘The assessor determined that the Department had improved its scores from the last assessment in 2013, showing the range of initiatives we have undertaken in areas such as employee development are paying dividends and confirming the Department’s commitment to continuous improvement.’
