A temporary footbridge over Laxey river should be in place by early next week.
The two sides of the valley were cut off from each other when the road bridge collapsed on Thursday night as a double decker bus tried to cross it. The bus has remained in the river ever since while engineers divert power and phone lines.
Glen Road has also been closed since Thursday when part of the road collapsed into the river. It's hoped this road will be open next week.
In the meantime, extra security fencing has been erected around the bus to prevent people from attempting to cross it.
