Food supplier says up to half a million in stock lost

The owner of a major Island food supplier says he's lost hundreds of thousands of pounds in stock after last week's floods.

A clean up operation has been taking place at Hills Meadow in Douglas where the KC Foods warehouses are based.

Owner Peter Caine says water four foot high submerged all their ground level stock rendering it unsellable.

Thirty-eight standard skips and four 40 cubic yard skips have so far been filled with wasted stock.

He says they've yet to get the figures of money lost:
