Ramsey is to ‘lighten up’ this Friday, December 11, with a lantern parade and fireworks display.
Those taking part in the parade are asked to meet at 4.45pm in the town hall car park where canes and glow sticks will be available. At 5.15pm the parade will move off from the town hall and proceed along Parliament Street to the Courthouse gardens where carol singing will be led by Waterloo Road Community Choir and where canes will be collected for return to the Isle of Man Arts Council.
In support of the event shops in the town will be staying open late and at 8.30pm there will be a fireworks display from the south breakwater, with viewing from the South Promenade where the Ramsey lifeboat will be on the slip and hot drinks available at the lifeboat station.
