IoM Archery Club Report - 6th December

by isleofman.com 8th December 2015
Fourteen archers made it to Onchan on Sunday to shoot a Portsmouth round as part of the Club’s Handicap League. The Portsmouth consists of 60 arrows shot at a distance of 18 yards. The scratch scores are then subjected to handicapping to give the overall result.

As far as scratch scores went, Josh Trafford once again triumphed in the Gents Recurve category. Josh then carried on shooting in the afternoon session to set a New Club Record for the Double Portsmouth.

Rhys Moore was in good form in the Gents Compound division, putting in the highest scratch score of the day. After handicapping however Rhys had to settle for fifth place.

Lesley Sleight put her Long bow to good use by smashing the old Club Record for the Double Portsmouth previously held by her. She secured third place in the overall standings after the handicap was applied.

Tilly Ashton, who has made progress week on week, recorded yet another personal best score for the round. Her scratch score was the highest of any of the Juniors and secured her joint first place after handicapping. Toby Young put in the highest Junior Gents scratch score and after handicapping shared first place with Tilly.
