Mobile generator sent to Heysham

The Manx Utilities Authority is supplying power to almost 400 homes in Heysham in the wake of Storm Desmond. 

Tens of thousands of homes across the Northwest of the UK were left without electricity following the weekend wind and rain. 

The MUA has now sent a mobile generator across on the ferry as part of a mutual aid deal with power firms there. 

Andy Cowie, the MUA’s client projects manager, says this emergency is slightly different to normal appeals:
