Life is set to be just a little sweeter for local families in need this festive season after staff from the Sefton Group donated sweets, chocolates and selection boxes to the Salvation Army’s Christmas Toys appeal.
Employees from the BEST WESTERN Palace Hotel and Casino, the Sefton Hotel, Sefton Express and Palace Cinema joined forces to give a total of 130 sweet treats to the charity which teams up every year with Isle of Man Bank to run the appeal and bring some Christmas joy to disadvantaged families referred to the Salvation Army by local health and social care agencies.
The Sefton Group’s marketing manager Nicola Wilkinson said: ‘The Salvation Army is a powerful force for good all year round, and especially at this time of the year. Many families in need with already stretched budgets would find it hard to celebrate Christmas were it not for the dedication of captains Carolyn and Simon Clampton and their team.
‘We were therefore pleased to be aligned with Isle of Man Bank and support the Salvation Army once again, and encouraged by the generosity of staff across the business who really got behind this worthy campaign and contributed so enthusiastically to making a very real difference for so many children this Christmas.’
Captain Simon Clampton said: ‘The generosity of the Manx community is legendary and I am extremely grateful to the Sefton Group’s employees for being such “good neighbours” and helping some of the neediest and most vulnerable families to feel included in the Christmas celebrations. It is acts of kindness such as this that distinguish the people of the Isle of Man and make this Island the very special place it is.’
