Another landslide in Laxey

by isleofman.com 6th December 2015

Homes on Laxey promenade and Old Laxey Hill have been evacuated after a further landslide hit the village today.

Emergency services are assessing the situation now.

Some homes were evacuated late on Thursday night after torrential rain destabilised the cliff face. Now, more people are being asked to leave their homes following another landslide.

This photograph was taken by the police earlier today and shows the extent of the landslide down towards Laxey beach. Old Laxey Hill has been closed, cutting off access to the lower part of the village. The bridge connecting to the other side of the valley remains collapsed under a double decker bus.
