Island settles after storm

by isleofman.com 6th December 2015

Storm Desmond sweeps the Isle of Man

After 48 hours of high winds and torrential rain, the Island’s emergency services and volunteer groups are expected to have a quieter day today (Sunday).

Widespread storm force gusts of up to 70 miles per hour were recorded around the Island yesterday and again overnight with various trees and power lines brought down.

The forecast is now set to ease before heavier rain returns tomorrow.

Motorists are reminded of possible disruption to travel with hazardous driving conditions and the risk of further structural damage in places.
