Sport faces a washout

Floods and more bad weather forecast

All of tomorrow's Football, Hockey and domestic Rugby fixtures have been postponed.

The decision on the Rugby has been made because of a combination of very heavy pitches and more severe weather being forecast for overnight and tomorrow.

The Manx Rugby Football Union says it is keen to avoid unnecessary traffic being on the roads with severe gales and more rain due.

In Football, only two games were scheduled to be played earlier but the Canada Life Premier League game at The Bowl between St. Mary's and Marown and the Combination Two - Governor's Athletic v Braddan on the astro pitch at Bemahague were postponed at lunchtime.

At The Bowl, there is standing water and debris around the ground and the pitch, which was flooded, was inspected for damage.

There was no power at the Isle of Man Football headquaters including the changing rooms.

The Manx Hockey Association has decided to heed the advice of the red weather warning and postpone all matches scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday and Monday.

The National Sports Centre pitch in Douglas is likely to be closed for several weeks due to severe damage from the floods and the Indoor Finals on Monday can't be played at the NSC.
