Christmas Carols at Erin Arts Centre tomorrow

by isleofman.com 4th December 2015
The Erin Arts' Centre presents a concert of traditional Christmas music, with the St. German's Cathedral Choir, directed by Dr. Peter Litman, accompanied by Jack Oades, and featuring internationally-acclaimed soprano, Anne Munding.

The choir, established in 2012 by Dr. Litman, numbers 18 boys and girls and 14 adults, singing on a rotational basis. The choir have sung at both the Liverpool Cathedrals, and been featured both on Manx Radio and (twice) on BBC "Songs of Praise."

In 2016 they will travel to Kilkenny Cathedral, Ireland, to sing services at the beginning of the Arts Festival.

Jack Oades, who will be the afternoon's accompanist on both the Arts' Centre's Steinway and its chamber organ, is a graduate of Pembroke College, Cambridge, and former organ scholar of St. Edmund's College, Cambridge.

Judith Ley will be the afternoon's compare, introducing music drawn from the last 3 years of Cathedral Carol Services as well as new pieces and some communal carol singing with classics such as ‘O Holy Night’, ‘Lulla Lullay’, ‘Jesus Christ the Apple Tree’, ‘The Sussex Carol’ and ‘Silent Night’.

They look forward to welcoming you and your friends, this coming Saturday at 3.30 p.m. - a great start to a traditional Christmas season!

This is a free event, with a retiring collection towards the work of the Arts' Centre.
