A wonderful day was had by all at a recent fundraiser for Hospice Isle of Man. Local pub, The Cat with No Tail was packed with people supporting the Phil Mourant Memorial Derby Disco Day – organised by Kev Quayle and friends.
The event held on the Manchester Derby day; the football match between Manchester United and Manchester City, raised over ?4,183.50 for the local charity. An extra ?5 donation was made on the day of the photograph.
Kev had organised an absolutely fabulous raffle and thanked everyone that donated such terrific prizes. Special thanks to Vikki Cain and Kelly Darlow.
He is hopeful this will become an annual event for the charity.
Phil, who sadly died in 2014, was a well-known and loved man. who was an avid Manchester United fan with Eric “The King” (Cantona) being one of Phil’s heros.
Kev added: “Phil would have loved the day – particularly if we had chicken and duck madras.” “Thank you to everyone that supported the day.”
Mary Doyle for Hospice added: “Thank you for all the support of our charity – this terrific donation plus other funds received will help us care for patients in our In-patient unit for 22 days.”
The date of next year’s event will be announced early in the football season next year.
