Police issue roads update

by isleofman.com 4th December 2015

Numerous closures and diversions remain in place

Police say the plan for Friday morning revolves around issues getting traffic to and from Douglas.

Quarterbridge to Pulrose bridge is closed due to extreme flooding.

Traffic from the north will have to come via Laxey - avoiding lower Laxey, where the bridge has collapsed - or via Kirk Michael.

The Mountain Road remains closed, due to a land slip.

Laurel Bank has been closed, too.

Traffic from the west can come via Peel Road, but can't go past Quarterbridge towards Pulrose bridge.

You will see a diversion which will take you up towards Alexander Drive, then into town.

There's also the option of turning off before the QB and going via Saddlestone.

Traffic from the south should try and come in via Fort North roundabout and Kewaigue.

The timings of traffic lights in the area will be altered to help with the flow, and diversions will be in place.

Officers add, it should go without saying but as a reminder. There will be standing water and debris on most roads. Take care.
