This is the scene near the harbour in Laxey this evening - a bus submerged after the bridge collapsed. There were no injuries.

Laxey has been effectively cut off because of heavy flooding, with power out in some places. Meanwhile, roads across the island are closed, including the mountain road after a landslide, and emergency services along with Department of Infrastructure workers and Civil Defence volunteers are working at full stretch.

The message from the police is simple - don't attempt to travel.
