Local businessman and charity volunteer Allen Charles Corlett has been appointed as the new Captain of the Parish of German by His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor.
Mr Corlett, who has lived in the Parish for more than 35 years, succeeds the late John Kennaugh.
His Excellency will present Mr Corlett with his Warrant of Appointment and Badge of Office in a ceremony at Government House later this month.
Born in Peel, Mr Corlett has given valuable service to the community in German through his work with many different organisations, most notably with the RNLI at Peel where he serves as Lifeboat Operations Manager.
He has also held the post of Chairman of the Manx Lottery Trust, is a member of the Noble’s Hospital League of Friends and is a past President of the Rotary Club of Rushen and Western Mann.
