Children attending the Christmas Grotto in Onchan Park’s ‘Winter Wonderland’ this week will be able to meet two of Santa’s reindeer – thanks to a little help from the Isle of Man Steam Packet Company.

Winter Wonderland opens today (Thursday) and runs through to Sunday, December 6th. Organised by Isle of Man-based PSS Events, it will include a Christmas Grotto with Santa, colouring section and writing letters to Santa, market stalls, a visit from superheroes & Disney characters, face painting – and the chance to meet ‘Donner and Blitzen’.

The opening times are:

• Thursday, December 3rd – 6.00pm-10.00pm
• Friday, December 4th – 2.00pm-10.00pm
• Saturday & Sunday, December 5th & 6th – 12.00pm-10.00pm

PSS Event is a regular supporter of Rebecca House Children’s Hospice and part of the proceeds from Winter Wonderland will go towards the charity.

Jacqueline Fernie from PSS Events said: ‘We are hugely grateful to the Steam Packet Company for supporting the event by bringing the reindeer to the Island, and we are happy to donate the money saved by this gesture into the pot to get the fundraising off to a fantastic start. There will be lot of excited children eager to meet Donner and Blitzen!

‘We’re looking forward to an exciting next few days and would advise everyone to get here early to take advantage of all the attractions.’

Isle of Man Steam Packet Company Chief Executive Mark Woodward said: ‘We are pleased to be able to support the Winter Wonderland, and hope that the addition of reindeer to the event – for the first time – will help the organisers raise much-needed funds for such a worthwhile charity.’
