The quarterly education sessions for the Island’s GPs continue this month on Wednesday 9 December.

The education sessions enable GPs to discuss developments in medical care and best practice, and to examine ways to enhance care for patients in the Isle of Man.

As a result, GPs will not be available for routine appointments on the afternoon of 9 December.

However, services will continue to be provided. Anyone who needs to see a doctor urgently should ring their GP Practice as normal.

Locum GPs based at practices in Douglas, Peel and the South with attend to urgent appointments and visits across the Island.

As well, GP Practices will remain open during the afternoon for patients to visit the practice nurse, collect test results, make future appointments, and order repeat prescriptions.

Patients are reminded that they can register for GP online services by attending their practice with photographic identification such as their passport or driving licence and address confirmation such as a utility bill. GP online services will help patients to view, book and cancel routine appointments, order repeat prescriptions and update their address details, through the GP practice website or via the mobile ‘app’.
