Return of 250cc racing to Mountain Course

Changes to Classic T.T. race programme

250cc two-stroke racing is to return to the Mountain Course next year.

A new Lightweight Race has been added to the 2016 Classic T.T. programme.

26-time T.T. winner John McGuinness holds the lap record set in 1999 at 118.29 mph.

The announcement has been made at Motorcycle Live in Birmingham where today's theme is the Classic T.T..

Other races have been re-named in a nod to tradition.

The 500cc race will be called the Senior Classic and the 350cc will be tagged the Junior Classic.

The Formula One race will now be known as the Superbike Classic.

The races will be held during the Isle of Man Festival of Motorcycling on Saturday 27th and Monday 29th August.
