Keys candidate outlines aims

Any short-term cuts should not be designed solely to make short-term savings.

That is the view of a candidate in this week’s Douglas East by-election.

Geraldine O’Neill is one of seven vying for the seat made vacant following Brenda Cannell’s retirement last month.

Mrs O’Neill admits she’s is taking a pragmatic approach in her foray into Manx politics.

The other candidates in Thursday’s by-election are Jon Joughin, Claire Bettison, Kurt Buchholz, Richard Falk, John McBride and Cat Turner.
