Hospital porter inquest opens

Christopher Higgins died at home

An inquest into the death of a hospital porter was opened and adjourned at Douglas courthouse on Monday afternoon.

 

Fifty-one-year-old Christopher James Higgins, of Port-E-Chee Avenue in Douglas, died on October 27 this year.

 

The inquest heard how emergency services were called to Mr Higgins' home address in the early hours of October 28, and found his body.

 

The cause of death was given as asphyxia due to hanging. 

 

Coroner of Inquests John Needham has adjourned the inquiry to a date to be fixed.
