OFT chairman breaks silence on Manx Gas

We're not playing politics insists OFT chair

The chairman of the Office of Fair Trading has spoken publicly about controversial changes to Manx Gas's pricing structure for the first time.

David Quirk faced questions on the matter in the House of Keys, then broke his media silence, speaking to Manx Radio afterwards.

He told his fellow MHKs anyone concerned about the restructuring of the provider's standing charges and tariffs should contact the company first, then the OFT, if necessary.

Mr Quirk's comments come around six weeks after Manx Gas announced the changes at the end of September.

He doesn't think that delay has made the OFT seem weak, though:
