Packet waits to call Friday sailing

Sailings from the Isle of Man to the UK are facing possible disruption on Friday, with strong winds forecast in the Irish Sea.

The Steam Packet is due to make a decision on the Ben my Chree's crossing to Heysham by 7am, Friday 13 Nov.

After waves lashed promenades on east and west coasts today at high tide, the stormy weather eased this evening, and the Ben left for Heysham at just before 8.20pm.

On the roads, gusting winds brought down several trees, with branches and debris strewn over carriageways, but all are now reported clear.

The Met Office has forecast stormy weather will continue over the weekend.
