DEFA plans to support fishing industry

New strategy to go before Tynwald next week

A new, government-led strategy for the Island's fishing industry goes before Tynwald next week.

'Future Fisheries' aims to balance the need to support and grow the sector with protecting seafood stocks in Manx waters, building on what's already being done.

It seems this is also the first step on the road to the industry itself being given more control.
