Change to be brought in summer 2016

British Airways will increase the number of flights to London City next year.

The news was confirmed by BA on Tuesday.

The airline will operate up to 27 weekly return flights on its London City-Isle Of Man route next summer, compared to 19 flown weekly in summer 2015.

Some of the flights will be using Embraer 170 aircraft, increasing capacity by 50 per cent over the 50-seat Saab 2000 aircraft used on the route.

BA's general manager commercial and customer at LCY, Luke Hayhoe, says they are growing and improving the schedule to London - as they had told customers on the Island they would.

Last week, Director of Ports Ann Reynolds suggested the move would be announced imminently, following the recent news Flybe would be dropping its Stanstead service at the end of March next year.
