'No reasons given' for parking objections

Gawne says scheme would create a fairer system

Infrastructure Minister Phil Gawne says he can’t understand why some Tynwald members objected to a scheme which would have forced them and public servants to pay for their parking.

 

In Tynwald this week, members approved a scheme which had been defeated by Legislative Council during last month’s sitting.

 

Mr Gawne says he still can’t understand opposition to the measures which he says will create a fairer system.

 

He says those who opposed it didn’t respond to an invitation to explain their concerns:
