Island's officers support ribbon campaign

Bid to end domestic abuse

All male police officers in the Isle of Man will be invited to wear a white ribbon today (25 Nov) as part of a worldwide campaign to end domestic violence.

The Constabulary is set to become the first organisation in the Island to make a public show of support for the White Ribbon Campaign, which is active in the UK and north America.

It wants men to make a pledge they will never commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women.

Chief Constable Gary Roberts will be wearing a ribbon and is encouraging his officers to do the same.
