Pre-trial review for Island firm

JCK denies responsibility for fatal accident

The pre-trial review will be held on Tuesday morning for an Island company accused of causing the death of a Douglas man.

JCK Ltd denies responsibility for a fatal accident in May 2013 which killed mechanical engineer Gareth Sowden.

The plant hire and demolition firm, which will go on trial next year, pleads not guilty to a lapse in workplace safety standards.

The 55-year-old died after being trapped under a shipping container when working on a sewage treatment site in Kirk Michael.
