Strategic plan progress welcomed

Thousands more homes proposed

Infrastructure chiefs hope the Island has moved closer to adopting a revised planning policy.

Earlier this week, an independent inspector outlined support for the government’s Draft Strategic Plan.

Its recommendations – including the construction of around 5,000 more homes Island-wide - will now be assessed and the plan will go to Tynwald for approval next year.

Minister Phil Gawne says that’s encouraging.
