Release of land for housing vital in Castletown

The release of land for housing in the ancient capital is of vital importance, the Infrastructure Minister has acknowledged.

Phil Gawne was speaking after an independent inspector backed key recommendations in his department’s draft Isle of Man Strategic Plan.

It’s hoped the plan will now be adopted before going to Tynwald for approval next year.

Mr Gawne says new housing is not only essential but long overdue for Castletown.
