Family Library launches brilliant new colouring book

by isleofman.com 1st December 2015

A brilliant new colouring book has been launched by the Family Library.

The book, Colour Our World, has 60 pages of colouring for all ages in the family. It is the perfect present for Christmas and has been produced to raise funds for the library.

A number of leading artists in the Isle of Man donated their work for free to give a wide range of colouring challenges, many with a Manx theme.

Isle of Man Advertising & PR helped with the production costs with a donation of cash raised from staff dress down days. Members of the Isle of Man Advertising & PR team brought their children along to the library for the launch of the book.

The A4 book, printed by the Mannin Group, costs ?10 and is available from the library and at the Lexicon Bookshop in Douglas.
Librarian-in-charge Mary Cousins said: ‘We are delighted with the colouring book. There’s something for everyone in there, from the youngest child to mums and dads. It would make a fantastic Christmas present.

‘We are so grateful to all the artists who provided work and also to everyone at Isle of Man Advertising & PR for their support. In addition, we would like to thank Mannin for creating such a high quality product and our friends at the Lexicon for putting the book on sale in their store.’

Helen Summerscales, Managing Director at Isle of Man Advertising & PR, said: ‘When the opportunity came along to support this venture, with money raised from our dress down days, we were very happy to get involved.

‘Creativity is at the heart of our business, and this colouring book is packed with imaginative designs from some of the Island’s most talented and creative artists. In addition, it is raising money to support the Family Library, which is working hard to promote the value of creativity and literacy, an ambition we are proud to support.

‘We are very impressed with what the Family Library does and are aware it relies upon public donations and support for funding. I’m sure the library will go from strength-to-strength and would urge anyone who has not been, to step through its doors – it’s a wonderland of books and so much more inside.’

The Family Library is next to the children’s playground in Westmoreland Road, Douglas.
