Cost of Peel sewerage works

by isleofman.com 27th November 2015

Backbench MHK Peter Karran has tabled a series of questions for next week's sitting of the House of Keys on the sewage outfall pipe on Peel beach.

Concerns were expressed by Friends of the Earth when the existing pipe developed a leak that affected the bathing water quality.

Mr Karran wants to know how far the existing outfall pipe will need to be extended to comply with EU standards, and how much this will cost, and what protection measures for the public are planned if heavy rainfall results in a discharge of untreated sewage into Peel bay. He's also asking how long it will be before the existing sewage outfall pipe will need to replaced and how much that will cost.
