Public inquiry to resume

by isleofman.com 26th November 2015
The independent public inquiry into the Isle of Man’s parole system will resume next month.

Proceedings will get under way at 10am on Monday 14 December in the Lecture Theatre at 88 Woodbourne Road, Douglas and continue at 9.30am on Tuesday 15th and at 10am on Wednesday 16th if required.

Experienced former advocate Geoff Karran MBE TH is heading the inquiry, which was established by the Council of Ministers following approval by Tynwald in July.

The initial phase of the inquiry will receive evidence on the practices and procedures of parole, as set out in the second part of the Tynwald resolution.

At a future date, the inquiry will focus on the circumstances surrounding the release from prison on parole of Donovan Kitching.
