Family Library fun day is a success

by isleofman.com 25th November 2015
The Family Library opened its doors to new faces and old at a special fun day.

Hundreds of visitors called into the library to take part, as normal activities were replaced by everything from temporary tattoos to home-baked cake sales. A scavenger hunt included visiting the mobile library vehicles, which are not usually open to the public on Saturdays.

Librarian-in-charge Mary Cousins said: ‘It was a lovely day. We saw plenty of familiar faces, but it was nice to make some new friends too.’

The event was held to raise funds for the Family Library.

Mary added: ‘Many of those visiting also took the chance to look at what is on offer in our silent auction. We have got everything from traditional dolls’ houses to goodie bags of toys and there is still time to place a bid. The auction runs until November 30.’

You can find out more about what is on offer in the silent auction by calling into the library, which is next to the children’s playground in Westmoreland Road, Douglas, or visiting the website www.familylibrary.im or visiting the Family Library’s page on Facebook.
