The swimming pool at the NSC fell silent on Saturday as swimmers, officials and spectators stood for a minute’s silence in respect of the events in Paris.
Swimmers and officials also wore red, white and blue to reflect the French flag, in memory of those who lost their lives at the hands of terrorists. The NSC pool was hosting the second weekend of heats and finals for the Isle of Man Swimming Championships.
Clive Parrish, chairman of the Isle of Man Swimming Association said, “It was unanimously agreed that we should show our respects, and we would like to thank everyone who was there. The minute’s silence was impeccably observed by all.”
