A minute's silence and walk along Douglas promenade will take place this Sunday to pay tribute to those killed in the terrorist attacks in Paris.
People are being invited to gather at the war memorial at 2.30pm and to consider wearing an item of clothing in red, white and blue to symbolise the Tricolore.
Landmarks around the island have been lit in the colours of the French flag since the atrocity, including the Tower of Refuge and the swing bridge in Ramsey (pictured).
The island's honorary French consul Annie Nedellec said the walk on Sunday would be an opportunity for quiet reflection, adding: 'This will be very much a muted and low-key event.
'Importantly the event will serve to unite us and pay tribute to those killed and injured on Friday November 13 in what was the worst act of violence in France since the Second World War. The events of that night have deeply touched the French and the wider Isle of Man community and I welcome Douglas Borough Council’s cooperation in providing this opportunity for us to come together and stand united to show support, not only for the people of France at this time of national mourning, but also for the universal values of peace, liberty and freedom.’
