The Isle of Man Ambulance Service was represented for the first time at the UK National Service of Remembrance, held at The Cenotaph in London on Remembrance Sunday 8 November 2015.
The UK National Service of Remembrance, held in London, commemorates and honours those who suffered or died in the two World Wars and later conflicts.
Robert Wilson, who is an Emergency Medical Technician, represented the Isle of Man Ambulance Service as part of the Civilian Services Contingent, made up of over 200 uniformed members of ambulance, police, prison, and fire and rescue services along with volunteer services.
The Civilian Services Contingent formed part of the static guard of honour around the Cenotaph, taking its place alongside the Army detachment, opposite the Royal Air Force and Royal Navy.
Robert Wilson said: “It was an honour and a privilege to represent the Island’s Ambulance Service at the UK National Service of Remembrance in London this year. It was a humbling experience of reverence, respect and comradeship as we joined together to remember all those who have suffered as a result of conflict.”
