Local charity, Hospice Isle of Man, are delighted to announce that ?11,000 profit has been raised through their annual dinner held recently at Tynwald Mills marquee in St John’s. With 85p of every pound spent directly on patient care – this huge donation will cover 37 days in the In-patient unit at Hospice.
The wonderful event sponsored by Duncan Lawrie Private Banking saw the marquee turn into a Winter wonderland – a real Snow ball! Event coordinator for the evening was Sarah Radcliffe supported by the fundraising team at Hospice.
The scene was set with guests arriving on a white carpet, candle lanterns and a snow machine! Once inside a stunning ice sculpture of a snow ball added a certain ambience. The amazing sculpture was created by Darren and Stephanie of Iceman Studio.
The team from the Claremont served all 200 guests a blue ‘snowy’ cocktail courtesy of Manx Telecom with world famous auctioneer Eric Knowles hosting the evening attended by His Excellency, Adam Wood, patron of Hospice.
A cream tea and auction had been held earlier in the day at the Claremont with guests enjoying a ‘priceless’ talk and valuations for their loved items.
The evening was also attended by Speaker for the House of Keys, Steve Rodan and his wife Anna along with Minister for Health, Howard Quayle and his wife Lorraine.
